Renewable Energy
Energy sources that don't wreak our planet and our DNA need to be the focus of our research dollars.
Nuclear promotors want you to forget about economy and life ruining nuclear accident risks and about the millenia of contamination we've created in a few decades that we don't know how and where to safely and economically contain. Why is dilution, by wind or by water, always the nuclear industry's solution?
The "smart" folks say that sun doesn' shine all the time and the wind doesn't blow all the time, so base-load plants are essential. To those folks, we would remind them that batteries can store power when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow. They seem to forget that a 1000 MW plant that goes down for maintenance has to have a backup 1000 MW resource to take its place.
